Lake Placid Film Festival Names ‘Dear June’ as Official Selection

NEW YORK, September 21, 2022 - The independent short film “Dear June” has been honored as an Official Selection at the 2022 Lake Placid Film Festival. The film was one of just 30 films selected for inclusion in the 2022 festival’s short film competition and screening.

The Lake Placid Film Festival is held each October in the storied town of Lake Placid, New York. The festival brings together film lovers, directors, and producers alike to view current, provocative feature and short film selections.

‘Dear June’ Writer/Director Adrian Pacini expressed his deep appreciation for the recognition and inclusion in the festival. “I’m so excited that ‘Dear June’ will be a part of the great Adirondack Film tradition this year, and we’re so honored to be a part of the Lake Placid Film Festival.”

‘Dear June’ is a WWII-era period short film about two teenage sisters struggling to survive on their own on the American homefront.

The film stars Rory Jackson as the titular character June Holden, the elder sister struggling to keep things together for their troubled family. Flora Nolan debuts as the younger Elizabeth Holden, in an award-winning breakout performance.

The film will be shown as a part of the festival’s “Your Shorts Are Showing” short film series, which runs all three days of the event. ‘Dear June’ is scheduled to be screened at 9:00am on Saturday, October 22nd at the Lake Placid Center for the Arts.

“Dear June” was produced by New York-based Dandy Ram Productions, an independent film producer co-founded by Pacini in 2015.
