‘Dear June’ Wins Special Jury Award at Los Angeles Film Awards

 
 

NEW YORK, October 3, 2022 - The independent short film “Dear June” and writer/director Adrian Pacini were awarded the Special Jury Award by the Los Angeles Film Awards. 

Writer/Director Adrian Pacini thanked the festival judges and organizers, saying “On behalf of the cast and crew, I’m so grateful to the LAFA judges for recognizing ‘Dear June’ with the Special Jury Award. We’re thrilled that the story connected with them as much as it did.”

The short film is a WWII-era period drama about two young sisters struggling to survive on their own on the American homefront. 

“Dear June” was also an Official Selection and Finalist for Best Picture at the festival. 

The film stars Rory Jackson as the titular character June Holden, the elder sister struggling to keep things together for their troubled family. Flora Nolan debuts as the younger Elizabeth Holden, in a breakout performance that was also awarded Best Actress in an Indie Film at the Los Angeles Film Awards.

“Dear June” was produced by New York-based Dandy Ram Productions, an independent film production company co-founded by Pacini in 2015.
